With the club’s playing stocks at their strongest for years, the Eagles fielded four strong sides on the weekend and it showed on the scoreboard, with all teams ending the year on a positive note by coming home convincing winners.
The club extends best wishes to all players, supporters, former players and the wider Marcellin community for a merry and safe Christmas and a prosperous 2011.
Match reports will be published on the Results page as they come to hand.
Training resumes Tuesday, January 4.
…due to inclement weather. Stand by for an announcement regarding another date, likely to be early 2011.
Due to the state of the ground which had been under water after last weekend’s deluge, continuation of the two-day match against Canterbury is not possible. Likewise, the clash with East Doncaster on Sunday (reserve day) is also cancelled. Three other teams would be happy to have some support from the sidelines however!
Kevin Boyd, former MOCCC Secretary, long serving and outstanding committee member, second XI Captain and club leader died suddenly yesterday. The loss of any member of our community is always felt keenly, the loss of Kevin will be immeasurable.
As an avid and talented golfer, Kevin was also heavily involved at the Greenacres G.C. and successfully ran his own financial services business.
Clearly Kevin was a man who enjoyed being part of a community and ensured that he made valuable and memorable contributions to them wherever possible. All those who knew Kevin, benefited and continue to benefit from the generosity of those contributions.
Thoughts and prayers are with Marie, Bob, Terry, Libby and the kids and all of those close to the Boyd family at this time.

Marcellin Old Collegians Cricket Club would like to congratulate Paul Dineen and Andrew Keogh on becoming life members.
Plenty of well-wishers turned out to cheer the 2nd XI home ona picture-perfect day at Hawthorn’s Rathmines Road Reserve in March. Standout performances were an unbeaten century from Man of the Match, opener Dan Cimoli, and skipper Julian Sakowski’s mesmerising five-wicket haul. There was no shortage of takers once the photo opportunities began.
The 2nd XI have secured a finals spot with a massive win over Old Carey today and almost managed the outright win having them 9 down at the close of play!!
Well done boys!
We play top side Richmond City next week!

Marcellin families and friends at the Queen Elizabeth Oval, Bendigo on Sunday 13 December 2009
The 37th Annual Marist carnival wound up in style with a presentation and dinner at the Foundry function centre in Bendigo. For Marcellin, the carnival was an outstanding success; Marcellin finishing runners up and having two players picked in the Marist XI – Trent Williams for his batting and Nick Biscontin as the bowler of the carnival. Marcellin was well aided in their cause with the support of families and friends who visited the team at various times during the carnival.
